As many as 6 out of 10 people are living with underlying acute or chronic anxiety, and our busy lifestyles, materially driven society and social media are not helping the situation. BioKinesiology deals with the root cause of the anxiety is the best way to treat it, rather than putting a plaster on symptoms. So, how can you help your anxiety and cope better with it?

What should I do for my low level Anxiety/ panic / over thinking?

“The Bush Flower Remedy is absolutely brilliant. I had bad anxiety, poor sleep and no interest in doing anything, now I am sleeping much better, much calmer and not as stressed, have an interest in going places and doing things again. I couldn’t recommend the Bush Flower Remedies enough”-Linda McNamara, Athlone
“I was struggling a lot with anxiety and feeling very overwhelmed since the lockdown started. I was only managing to sleep 3 – 4 hours a night. I started taking the Bush Flower Essences and I can’t believe the difference in myself. I’m sleeping full 7-8 hour nights and I’m a lot more calm and grounded and not over thinking as much. I just take 7 drops in the morning and last night thing at night.” –Emma Finneran, Athlone
If your anxiety does not improve with a Bush Flower remedy, we would suggest a BioKinesiology session which will find out what the root of your anxiety is.
But how does this work!? How do you find out what the root cause is!?
Through kinesiology testing, your body will tell the practitioner whether your problem is chemical or emotional; ie. whether it’s a toxicity issue in the body or whether your body has been affected by a past trauma. More often than not, if your microbiome (environment in your bowel) is out of balance, this can lead to mental health issues. Science talks more often of the Gut-Brain Axis and the Vagus nerve and how it impacts our mental health. Out gut is known as our ‘second brain’… more about this in a follow up blog!
What usually comes up as the cause of anxiety?
1. Parasites/ Fungus/ Gut Dysbiosis
Without a doubt, the bowel being off balance is the number one cause of anxiety; people presenting with anxiety often also have symptoms such as IBS, Bloating, Excess Wind, Indigestion….
A common cause of anxiety is parasites and they are common not only in children, but in adults as well. As shocking as this sounds, parasites are extremely common, and they cause a HUGE range of symptoms including skin issues such as psoriasis and other chronic skin issues, IBS, teeth grinding, itchy/peeling skin, nightmares & sleep disturbance, suicidal thoughts, depression and anxiety. BioKinesiology tests for all toxins such as parasites, viruses, bacteria, fungus, heavy metals, radiation, toxic chemicals, pesticides, herbicides and if they show as being relevant, we test what you need to eliminate the toxin from the body. We will work with you to get your gut back into good shape and anxiety improves once toxins are removed.
2. Low Feel Good Hormones & Vitamin & Mineral Deficiency
Our brains are chemical factories that continuously produce our feel good hormones serotonin & dopamine. What’s needed in order to synthesize or make these feel good hormones in the body are nutrients; amino acids, minerals & vitamins and other biochemicals we obtain from food. Serotonin (our feel good hormone) is made from protein (an amino acid called tryptophan). To make this feel good hormone, vitamin B6 is extremely important. Zinc is also extremely important for the synthesis of GABA which is a neurotransmitter that produces a calming effect. This can help with feelings of anxiety, stress, and fear. It may also help to prevent seizures. So Zinc and Vitamin B6 are crucial nutrients when it comes to anxiety and depression. When supplementing with any specific nutrition, you must check with your GP or pharmacist if you are on medication.
3. Problems with your Methylation
Another cause for anxiety is a methylation issue. Methylation is a chemical process within your body and it regulates cardiovascular, neurological, reproductive, and detoxification systems, including those relating to: liver detox, DNA production, Neurotransmitter production (feel good hormones), metabolism (regulation) of fats, oestrogen & histamine) high histamine causes sinus issues/ itching/ rashes/ sneezing etc. Certain nutrients are extremely important for our methylation process and BioKinesiology will test a range of specific nutrients & supplements to see which are priority for you.
4. Chronic deficiency in certain vitamins or minerals
Abnormal levels of key nutrients can have an adverse effect on brain chemistry & mental health. BioKinesiology identifies which specific nutrient deficiencies you have and gives treatment to help these. This in turn helps increase levels of feel good hormones serotonin and dopamine, in turn improving anxiety and depression in a completely natural way without medications. Many people suffering with anxiety and depression test to having low Vitamin B6, which is a very important co-factor in the last chemical step in serotonin synthesis. Anxiety is often also coupled with sleep issues as serotonin is a precursor to our sleep hormone melatonin and both are on the same hormone pathway.
5. Emotional Issues/ Past Trauma stored within the body
If your body tests to having an emotional root to your anxiety, we always recommend Australian Bush Flower Essences to help calm the mind, and stop fears/ anxieties / worries. If our initial ‘anxiety combination essence’ does not do the trick for you, we would treat past trauma with other individual essences. This is done in consulation. For thousands of years Australian Aborigines have used flowers to heal emotional imbalances and physical injuries. They are used to treat imbalances at a higher level, bringing about emotional and spiritual balance and well being in the whole person. There are Bush Flower Essences to help all emotional imbalances; Fear/ Anxiety, Anger, Frustration, Hormonal Imbalances- Menopausal issues, Sleep issues (amongst many other emotions).
More feedback from just a couple of patients who have used Australian Bush Flowers;
“I used the Bush Flower Essence ‘Emergency Essence’ on Maeve’s recommendation, I felt good, less tired and most certainly less anxious” – Claire Nulty Heavin, Athlone
“I brought my 11 year old son to Maeve last September with anxiety. Maeve recommended a Bush Flower; 4 drops under the tongue each night until he finished the bottle. The difference in my son was huge. No more tears before school, no more panic attacks at night, no more irrational thoughts. Can’t recommend them enough”– Beth, Athlone
“I first visited Maeve 2 years ago for a number of problems one of which was the dreaded menopause and I was a NIGHTMARE according to my family! Maeve recommended that I try the Bush flowers and to say my body reacted to them was an understatement! Within days I was on my way back to my usual self happier and not on edge. With this issue sorted I tested for another Bush flower for some long standing inner trauma from a loved ones death some years previous. Again, I can say I blossomed with this new Bush flower. To say Maeve is brilliant does not do her justice she is one in a million and picked the right career path. I can not recommend her highly enough. I would just say some times it takes time for them to work everyone reacts differently.“- Jackie McCauley, Moate
